About Us

In 2012 the Club celebrated its 225th Year, having been formed in 1787, and since 1891 the Club's home has been in Friars Street.  Whilst relatively compact, the ground remains a wonderful place to play cricket, and its proximity to the Town Centre always guarantees a regular stream of spectators - whether they be die hard cricket enthusiasts , or taking a well earned break from shopping.

  The Club currently runs :
4 / 5 Senior Mens Teams at weekends,
a Ladies Team on Friday nights,
  and a vibrant Junior Section.

The Club also benefits from a fine Vice Presidents section,
  many of whom are ex-players.

Whilst playing cricket is the main activity of the Club, there is a
full Social Events calendar including Cricket Week which is
held in the last full week of July.

New Members, and Players of all ability levels are always
welcome - please refer to the individual pages for more
  detail about each section.

Run by a Management Committee that meets every month throughout the year, and a Players' Committee
the Club's Annual General Meeting is held in November after the end of the season which runs from mid-April to

During the close season the clubhouse is occupied by the Sudbury Hockey Club who play their home matches on the all weather pitch at the Thomas Gainsborough School, Great Cornard.

The Club's new Website will keep both Club Members and Cricket Enthusiasts fully aware of the Club's activities both on and off the cricket field - the Saturday 1st XI matches can be followed 'live' via the link to the Total Cricket Scorer section of the 'Home Page'.

The Club adopts the ECB's Inclusion and Diversity Policy, has Club Mark Accreditation and maintains a comprehensive Child Protection Policy.  Please refer to the Membership Section to view the Club's various Policy Documents.
